Rivergate Marina and Shipyard said visiting captains return because of repeat delivery, clear communication and coordinated project management. The yard cited refits on MY Explora, MY Kokomo II and SY Radiance, and quoted captains on the planning and oversight they received.
Port Whangarei Marine Centre said it completed more than 150 haul-outs for vessels under 20 metres over the summer, alongside several larger refits. Those included a 65ft Catana catamaran repaint and deck overhaul, and a custom carbon fibre vessel upgraded ahead of an Antarctic voyage.

Port Whangarei Marine Centre is preparing for a busy Southern Hemisphere summer as yacht arrivals into New Zealand build toward pre-pandemic levels. Marine Centre manager Dan McDonell said the yard expects more catamarans this season and can take vessels with beam widths up to 13.5 metres.
Port Whangarei Marine Centre said international yachts can again enter New Zealand ports and those in Pacific waters after border restrictions eased. The yard has been closed to international clients for two years, and said yachts in long-term storage there can now return to the facility for maintenance and refit work.
