La Ciotat shipyards hosted Labour and Solidarity Minister Jean Pierre Farandou and junior education and apprenticeship minister Sabrina Roubache on Friday 16 October. The visit focused on maritime recruitment, yachting jobs and apprenticeship, with Patrick Ghigonetto and local companies also taking part.
Patrick Ghigonetto was re-elected unanimously as chair of La Ciotat Shipyards on 27 May, after the municipal elections in March. The board also added Jean-Pascal Gournès, representing the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis, and Éric Runfola, representing the city of La Ciotat.
La Ciotat Shipyards inaugurated the rehabilitated Nef B on 21 October with MB92 and the mayor present. The project cost €10.7 million in total, split between MB92 La Ciotat and La Ciotat Shipyards, with state support under the Fonds vert.
Georges-François Leclerc, préfet de région, visited La Ciotat Shipyards on Thursday 2 October during a trip organised by the city of La Ciotat. The site was presented to him in the presence of mayor Alexandre Doriol, alongside a redevelopment plan worth more than 60 million euros and the local firms operating on the yard.
La Ciotat Shipyards began a new phase of work in mid-April on the longitudinal north-east cladding of Nefs B and C at the Grande Darse. The job covers 3,900 m² of steel sheet, with 1,400 m² on Nef B and 2,500 m² on Nef C, after the yard completed roof rehabilitation on Nef B.
