Suzuki Shipyard (鈴木造船株式会社) is a Japanese shipbuilder and repairer based in Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture, on Ise Bay. Founded in 1907, it builds vessels from under 5 gross tons up to about 1,100 gross tons, specialising in coastal chemical tankers, oil tankers and aluminium high-speed craft, and handles design, construction, testing and delivery in-house. It also runs a repair and maintenance business covering periodic and intermediate surveys, hull coating, propulsion, piping and electrical work, reporting roughly 100 vessel repair and inspection jobs a year. The company joined the Niwa Holdings group in October 2025 and is examining a repair tie-up with Toba Dock along with crane and outfitting quay investment.

Suzuki Shipyard

Suzuki Shipyard (鈴木造船株式会社) is a shipbuilding and ship repair company in Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture, Japan. Founded in March 1907 as a wooden boat builder and incorporated in 1975, it states it has built and repaired more than 1,000 vessels over roughly 120 years. The yard covers craft from under 5 gross tons to around 1,000–1,100 gross tons, works in steel, high-tensile steel, stainless steel and aluminium light alloy, and keeps its own design department so design through construction, testing and delivery is handled in-house. It became part of the Niwa Holdings group in October 2025.

Facilities

  • No. 2 slipway: 32 m x 5 m, up to 199 GT — small craft and hull block assembly
  • No. 3 slipway: 84 m x 13 m, up to 1,100 GT — main building berth (expanded to 1,100 GT in 2007)
  • No. 4 slipway: 60 m x 13 m, up to 500 GT — roofed, all-weather berth suited to aluminium construction
  • Dedicated aluminium/light-alloy workshops; 40-tonne crane installed in 1982
  • Planned investment in an expanded outfitting quay and new crane capacity; roof extension to allow 40 m class aluminium vessels
