Seaspan is a Canadian marine group operating on the West Coast, combining shipyards with marine transportation businesses. Seaspan Shipyards — comprising Vancouver Shipyards, Vancouver Drydock and Victoria Shipyards — builds new vessels for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy under Canada's National Shipbuilding Strategy and carries out repair, refit, conversion and life-cycle maintenance for government and commercial fleets, including frigates, submarines, cruise ships and ferries. Seaspan Marine runs tug and barge operations, ship assist and tanker escort, Seaspan Ferries' commercial ro-ro service to Vancouver Island, and Seaspan Energy's LNG bunkering. The company is part of The Washington Companies, with roots tracing back to 1886.
