Commodore's Boats Ltd is a full-service shipyard in Richmond, British Columbia, working on all hull materials including wood, fiberglass, steel and aluminum. The company handles ship maintenance and repair, new builds, sponson work, machine shop services, fiberglass and gelcoat repair and bottom painting, with a particular focus on fishing vessels, tugboats and traditional West Coast wooden craft. Owned and operated by Bosun Spiller with co-owner and manager Brendan Burgess, the business traces over 50 years of generational boatbuilding history on the BC coast and typically runs a crew of 10 to 15. It operates from a base at Shelter Island Marina and Boatyard and is CWB certified, SECOR certified and insured for Commercial General Liability and Ship Repairers Liability.

Commodore's Boats Ltd is a full-service, all-hull-materials shipyard on the West Coast of British Columbia, descended from a family boatbuilding tradition that includes the historic "Wahl" yard in Prince Rupert. Originally incorporated as Spiller Boat Building Ltd. in 2002 and renamed in 2005, the company is owned and operated by Bosun (Bo) Spiller, with Brendan Burgess as co-owner and manager. The yard is known as a wooden boat specialist but also undertakes steel, aluminum and fiberglass restoration, repair and new construction, and allows owners to work on their boats alongside its shipwrights, mechanics, welders and electricians.

- Traditional plans and materials supplied; approximately 20,000 fbm of boat stock cut to order

- Based within Shelter Island Marina and Boatyard, with 75-ton and 220-ton travel lifts
- 22-ton crane for heavy components and mast stepping/de-stepping
- Machine shops, sheds, paint facilities, fiberglass shop, steel and aluminum fabrication, marine supply stores and large storage and work areas
- CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) certified, SECOR certified, insured for Commercial General Liability and Ship Repairers Liability, in good standing with WorkSafe BC
Vessel Types
- Fishing vessels and tugboats, including conversions of older fishing boats and tugs
- Traditional wooden boats and West Coast troller yachts
- Aluminum jet boats; a 20-foot welded aluminum vessel shell has been offered for sale
- Pleasure craft and yachts; the yard also states it is equipped to build tall ships
