North American Shipbuilding
North American Shipbuilding (NAS) is a shipyard in Larose, Louisiana, founded in 1974 and part of the Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO) / Chouest Group family of companies. The yard designs and builds specialized offshore service vessels, and according to ECO has built more of them than any other shipyard in the world. Notable projects credited to NAS include the first U.S. Antarctic icebreaking research vessel, the first dynamically positioned vessel in the U.S. fleet, and the world's first floating production system installation vessel. NAS is one of five Chouest commercial shipyards in the United States, and is among the Chouest yards receiving HD Hyundai Robotics ArcLift GO robotic welding systems.
