Newdock
Newdock (St. John's Dockyard Limited) is a ship repair and refit yard in St. John's, Newfoundland, established in 1884 and described as one of the oldest shipyards in Canada. It handles minor repairs and maintenance, emergency docking, refits, conversions, and vessel life extensions, supported by in-house steel machining and fabrication and roughly 6,550 m2 of manufacturing area. The yard has serviced vessels for the Canadian Coast Guard and navy as well as offshore supply, seismic, tug and barge, aquaculture and traditional fishery operators. On Nov. 1, 2024, the company was acquired by a partnership of Membertou First Nation, Qalipu First Nation, and Horizon Naval Engineering.
