Notable milestones cited by the company include the hybrid ferry MV Peter-Fraser, launched in 2013 and described as a first in North America, and the start of construction of 10 search and rescue vessels for the Canadian Coast Guard in 2016. The company operates from its Gaspé head office and a second production site at Rivière-au-Renard, acquired in 2024.

Chantier Naval Forillon is a Gaspésie-based shipyard with more than 70 years of history, founded in 1952 as Gaspé Shipbuilding Inc. and renamed after a group of five shareholders took over in 1992.
