Kötter Werft GmbH is a fifth-generation family shipyard in Haren (Ems), Germany, founded in 1919 and active in shipbuilding, conversion and repair for more than 100 years. The yard carries out hull, propeller, shaft, rudder and bow thruster work, coatings, piping repairs and damage repair, as well as lengthening, shortening and widening of vessels and the construction and outfitting of hulls. It operates two slipways — one in Haren harbour and one at the Blaue Donau site in Haren-Raken — able to haul out vessels up to 110 m long, with width limited to 12 m by the Ems locks. Since the 2000s the focus has been on inland shipping, including river cruise vessels, inland freighters and tankers.

Kötter Werft

Kötter Werft GmbH is a family-run shipyard in Haren (Ems), Germany, managed by Bernhard and Stephan Kötter and now in its fifth generation. Founded in 1919 by Rudolf Kötter, the yard originally built and repaired wooden vessels and "Pünten" before moving into steel construction, delivering its first steel newbuild, the bunker boat "Esso Haren", in 1960 and its first coaster, MS "Stephan", in 1966. Seagoing newbuilding ended in 1996 with the "Evert Prahm", and since the 2000s the focus has been on inland shipping — the first river cruise vessel, "Serenité", was delivered in 2001. The company works with its own workforce alongside a network of regional service providers and trains metalworkers (construction engineering) annually.
