Fraser Shipyards is a shipyard in Superior, Wisconsin, on Lake Superior, operating on the site since 1890 and serving Great Lakes fleets with repair, conversion, and new construction work. The 60-acre yard has two dry docks, over 3,000 feet of dock wall, and handles hull repairs, winter lay-up, non-destructive examination, ship conversion and modernization, barge construction, and industrial steel fabrication. Recent projects include hull repairs on the S/S Wilfred Sykes, work on the Kaye E. Barker, and winter lay-up for the Mesabi Miner. The company, part of Fraser Industries LLC, has signed a shipyard modernization memorandum of understanding with HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering.
