Çakırlar Shipyard

Çakırlar Tersane İşlt. San. Tic. A.Ş. is a shipbuilding and repair yard in the Altınova shipyards region of Yalova, Turkey. The business traces back to 1970 as Yalçınkaya Gemi Sanayi, with founder Çakır Hayrullah Yalçınkaya entering the sector in 1971 in İstanbul's Haliç Ayvansaray district repairing and fabricating steel components for ships and wooden boats. The company later expanded in Tuzla under the Çakırlar Denizcilik name, moved into yacht construction after 2000 — including the 51-metre yacht 'Büyük Barbarossa' — and has operated at its present Altınova site as Çakırlar Shipyard since 2007.
