Besiktas Shipyard is a ship repair and shipbuilding yard established in 2007 in Yalova, Turkey, as an investment of Besiktas Group. Operating two large floating docks and one graving dock on a site of around 213,000 sqm, it handles roughly 150 ship repair projects a year and can accommodate up to 15 vessels at once, including tankers, bulkers, container ships, LNG carriers and FSRU/FPSO units. Services span dry docking, steel and pipe work, blasting and painting, mechanical and electrical works, outfitting, and BWTS and scrubber retrofits, and the yard states it is the first GTT-approved repair yard in its region for LNG work. It also builds special-purpose vessels and workboats up to 30,000 DWT.

Besiktas Shipyard

Established in 2007 in Yalova, Turkey as an investment of Besiktas Group, Besiktas Shipyard describes itself as the most active ship repair yard in Europe, handling an average of 150 repair projects annually from more than 30 countries and having completed over 2,000 projects since start-up. Repair activity began in 2009 in the graving dock, with successive floating dock acquisitions culminating in an 85,000 TLC dock in 2024. Alongside repair, the yard builds special-purpose vessels and workboats, and holds ISO 14001:2015 certification with carbon emissions reported to ISO 14064-1:2018 and verified by a TÜRKAK-accredited body.

Services

  • Ship repair and dry docking
  • Steel production and pipe works (mild, high tensile, super duplex, SMO 254, clad steel, GRE/GRVE, CuniFe)
  • Blasting and painting, including hull, cargo tank, cargo hold and ballast tank coatings and metalizing
  • Mechanical and machinery works: main and auxiliary engines, turbochargers, pumps, heat exchangers, propeller, shaft and rudder works
  • Outfitting, accommodation upgrades and electrical works (approx. 150 km cabling and 1,500+ motor overhauls per year)
  • BWTS and scrubber installation, with 3D scanning and engineering studies; up to 6 BWTS and 3 scrubber installations simultaneously, capacity for 40 scrubbers per year
  • Shipbuilding up to 30,000 DWT, capacity of 7 ships per annum

  • Superintendent offices, guest house, dining halls, infirmary with ambulance, waste receiving facility and fast boat service to Eskihisar
