Shiptech Marine Services

Shiptech Marine Services is a Brazilian ship repair and maintenance contractor serving the marine and offshore segments. The business began in Paranaguá in 1992 under Pietro Petraglia, initially providing ship repair services to international standards, later expanding into fire extinguisher maintenance with INMETRO release and DNV classification. In 2010, Petraglia Indústria de Reparo Naval (Shiptech Marine Service) was formed by incorporating the equipment, technical team and know-how of the earlier Shiptech company.   • Firefighting and safety items: inspection, maintenance and certification of extinguishers (all types), fixed CO2 systems, sprinkler and pressurised-water suppression systems, breathing air compressors and air quality, SCBA, EEBD, immersion suits, lifejackets, firefighting suits, liferafts, medical oxygen
  • Welding, plate work and piping: structural repairs to main deck, ballast tanks, crane booms, cargo holds, hatch covers, shell plating, piping, auxiliary and diesel boilers; ABS-certified welders
  • General mechanical: pumps, hydraulic units, oil/water separators, fresh water generators, brake lining renewal, crane load testing, windlass, propeller shaft, steering gear
  • Electrical and electronics: rewinding of electric motors and generators, electrical panels and main switchboards, bearing and housing recovery; radio station, radar, gyro and magnetic compass, autopilot, AIS, sonar
  • Engines and turbines: main and auxiliary engine, turbine and governor maintenance; reconditioning of piston crowns, liners, cylinder heads, connecting rods, exhaust valve guides and seats
  • Accommodation ladders and gangways: inspection to IMO/SOLAS MSC.1/Circ.1331 and load testing with inflatable water bags
