Estaleiro Kalmar is a Brazilian boatyard in Itajaí, Santa Catarina, specialising in naval joinery (marcenaria naval) and the construction, refit and restoration of wooden boats. Founded in 1982 by Erik and Lars Kreuger, it builds hulls, cabins and interiors using cold-moulded and strip-planked laminated wood impregnated with epoxy resin, and also produces composite (fibreglass) craft with classic styling. Its range includes the Classic Yachts line (K8 day sailer, Lobster Boat L35 Classic and Sport, Runabout IT22), the Composite line (Cat 33 catamaran, Garda 22) and the Runabout R24, alongside one-off custom projects from small launches to mega yacht interiors.

Estaleiro Kalmar

Estaleiro Kalmar is a wooden boat builder based in Itajaí, Santa Catarina, Brazil, founded in 1982 by Erik and Lars Kreuger and named after the Swedish county from which the family descends. The yard is built around naval joinery, using a laminated wood and epoxy technique brought from the United States by Lars Kreuger, and describes itself as a national reference in the craft. Between 2008 and 2016 the company was directed by Lorena Kreuger. Many of its craftsmen have been with the team for more than 15 years, and clients are invited to follow construction on site through photos, videos and yard visits.
