Chantier Naval du Cap-Ferret

Chantier Naval du Cap-Ferret is a French boatyard founded in 2016 at Lège-Cap-Ferret on the Bassin d'Arcachon, building the SEAWEED range of open gull-wing hull GRP boats from 5.35 m up to 12 m, including chaland and cabin versions produced by vacuum infusion. Alongside its own production it acts as a dealer for the GRAND BOAT, SALPA, 3D TENDER and MARSEA RIB brands and is an exclusive Honda Marine outboard dealer for the north of the Bassin d'Arcachon. The yard also offers winterisation, indoor and outdoor boat storage, maintenance, engine servicing and used boat sales, and its SEAWEED models are sold through a network of dealers across France, the Caribbean and Switzerland.

Founded in 2016 and based at Lège-Cap-Ferret in the Gironde, Chantier Naval du Cap-Ferret builds the SEAWEED range of rigid open boats characterised by gull-wing (aile de mouette) hulls, shallow draught and a vintage, timeless look. All SEAWEED boats are described as 100% French-built, with design, hull moulding, fittings, engine installation and finishing carried out at Lège-Cap-Ferret, and are fully customisable including a wide gelcoat colour palette. The yard combines new-build work with dealership, servicing and storage activities, and has been recognised with a 2024 "coup de cœur" prize at the Grand Pavois innovation awards for its electric-powered "Imagine" project using flax fibre and cork.
