Tema Shipyard Limited’s newly inaugurated board has toured the yard’s main operational areas, including Dock 1, Dock 2, the Pump House, workshops, the Air Compressor Room, the Floating Office Quarters and the Slipway. Board chairman Dr. George Sipa-Adjah Yankey said the board must ensure the facilities and equipment are maintained and upgraded to keep the yard competitive.
Officials from Ghana’s Right to Information Commission visited PSC Tema Shipyard on 8 August for a monitoring and inspection exercise under the RTI Act. The team reviewed documentation systems, information-handling procedures and the yard’s RTI desk, then made recommendations after what the yard said was a thorough review.
Ghana’s transport minister, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, visited PSC Tema Shipyard on 25 February and said the government remained committed to reviving the yard. He met the shipyard’s new chief executive, Osman Sulemana, and deputy CEO, Peter Mensah, alongside GPHA director-general Brigadier General Paul Seidu Tanye-Kulono.
