Incat has been named the 2026 Tasmanian Exporter of the Year after winning two honours at the Tasmanian Export Awards. The Hobart shipbuilder took the Manufacturing and Advanced Materials Award for three 129-metre battery-electric ferries under construction for Danish operator Molslinjen, then received the top award of the night.
Incat completed the rollback of Hull 102 at its Prince of Wales Bay shipyard on 3 July, advancing construction of a 129-metre battery-electric ferry for Danish operator Molslinjen. The vessel is one of three being built for the operator and will be fitted with passenger deck superstructures next.
Incat is building three 129-metre battery-electric ferries for Molslinjen at its Hobart yard, with Wärtsilä supplying the propulsion systems. Once delivered, the vessels will be the largest electric ferries operating in Europe and will enter service in Denmark on the Kattegat route.
