M/S Vesterålen, owned by Hurtigruten, became the 100th vessel to enter Dock 5 at Orskov Yard on 26 February. The floating dock, inaugurated in 2021, was built at Turkish HAT-SAN Shipyard and measures 180 metres by 30 metres by 8.5 metres.
Orskov Yard reported revenue of DKK 914 million for 2024-25, up from DKK 808 million a year earlier and its fourth straight annual record. Profit before tax reached DKK 121 million, the yard’s second-best result ever.
Orskov Yard has appointed Anders Egeskov Jachobsen as head of its Sales and Project Department after Ole Gammelgaard announced his retirement. Jachobsen joined the yard this Monday and will lead eight project managers.
Orskov Yard’s head of project department, Ole Gammelgaard, has retired after 46 years with the yard. He joined the former Ørskov Christensen Stålskibsværft as an apprentice in 1979 and later joined the management team 13 years ago. Christina Ørskov and CEO Lars Fischer both paid tribute to his work.
