Birdon has signed a $125 million contract with the Australian Army to design and build one prototype and 15 Amphibious Vehicles – Logistics (AV-L). The vehicles will be built at Birdon’s yard in Port Macquarie for the Land 8710 Littoral Manoeuvre Program, replacing the Army’s LARC-V fleet.
Birdon has identified 14 Australian Defence Force veterans on its workforce ahead of ANZAC Day. The company said staff around the country marked the week with ANZAC biscuit morning teas supporting Bravery Trust, a charity for veterans and their families.
