The New Naval Mechanics
La Nuova Meccanica Navale (NMN) is a ship repair, conversion and refit yard based in Naples, Italy, founded in 1948 and now run by the third generation of the founding family. The yard handles routine, damage and retrofit repairs on medium and large conventional vessels, including steelwork, blasting and painting, machinery overhaul, piping and electrical work, as well as major conversions such as ballast water treatment and scrubber retrofits. It also builds and maintains containerised "POWER PACK" generator sets and reefer container power and ventilation installations. Around 300 direct and indirect workers operate a floating dock, launching dock, 350 m quay and workshops on the site.

Founded in Naples in 1948 by Salvatore Ummarino and now led by the third generation of the family, La Nuova Meccanica Navale (NMN) is one of the leading ship repair and maintenance yards in its region of Italy. The company employs around 300 workers directly and indirectly and covers the full production chain from steel processing to final paint coating, handling vessels both in drydock and alongside its repair berth. Alongside conventional repair work, NMN specialises in complex retrofit and conversion projects carried out with minimal interference to commercial operations.

- On-site stores for metals, welding consumables, pipes and valves, bearings, chemicals, blasting grit, tools, PPE and spares
- Stated productivity: 12–15 t/day steel; 3,000–4,000 sqm/day painting
