Hakata Shipyard (伯方造船株式会社) is a Japanese steel shipbuilder founded in 1958 on Hakata Island in Imabari, Ehime Prefecture, employing about 97 people. The yard builds and repairs steel vessels for ocean-going, near-sea and domestic coastal trades, with a delivery record covering chemical, clean, dirty, oil, asphalt and LPG tankers, 1,000 TEU container ships, bulk carriers and general cargo ships. Facilities include a 14,400 G/T building berth of 151.50m x 26.00m and a 4,600 G/T semi-dry repair dock, supported by jib cranes up to 200 tonnes, NC laser and plasma cutting and 3D CAD/fairing systems. The company also promotes technologies such as CFRP propellers, high-ductility steel plate and low-CO2 blast furnace steel.

Hakata Shipyard

伯方造船株式会社 (Hakata Shipyard Co., Ltd.) is a steel shipbuilding and repair yard established in September 1958 on Hakata Island in Imabari, Ehime Prefecture, Japan. Now led by fourth-generation president Hiroyuki Kimoto, the company has a capital of 24 million yen and around 97 employees, and states a policy of continuous relationships with shipowners and operators regardless of market conditions. Its stated business scope is the new construction, conversion and repair of all types of steel vessels and related work. In 2013 it partnered with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries on the joint development of a 1,000 TEU container ship type, and it has exhibited at Bari-Ship since 2019.
