MB92 says the refit of FLIP, the floating instrument platform now under long-term modernisation in its yard, has moved through major structural and technical milestones since April 2025. The project has included hull plating replacement, bulkhead re-engineering and the removal of about 180 tonnes of concrete ballast.
French sea and fisheries minister Catherine Chabaud visited La Ciotat Shipyards last week, including MB92 La Ciotat and its gantry crane. Bruno Ricard, MB92 La Ciotat’s HSE director, spoke during the visit about safety, performance and sustainability in refit.
La Ciotat Shipyards has moved an 86-metre sailing yacht built by Oceanco onto the Atlas platform for maintenance work. The yacht was landed on 15 December and lifted with the Atlas-4300 tonnes elevator on 22 December after a staged demasting and ballast transfer operation.
