Kurt Olsen, vice president of shipyard operations at Stevens Towing, has been selected for induction into the 2026 United States Merchant Marine Academy Athletics Hall of Fame. Olsen, a 2013 USMMA graduate, was a standout on the men’s soccer team and helped the program reach three consecutive NCAA tournaments.
Stevens Towing has promoted Bos Smith to vice president and Kurt Olsen to vice president of shipyard operations, while naming Ross Miller vice president of sales and business development and Captain Ben Peterson vice president of marine operations. President Johnson Stevens said the changes were intended to support the Charleston-based tug and marine transport company’s operations and customer work.
