Desan Shipyard will take part in SMM Hamburg 2026 in Hamburg, Germany, from 1-4 September 2026. The yard said it will use the exhibition to present its naval and commercial shipbuilding, repair, maintenance, conversion and renovation work at Hall B3, stand EG202.
DESAN Shipyard has become the first Turkish shipyard to receive Green Marine Europe certification. The French environmental programme said the yard qualified after an assessment and scoring process, and DESAN said it is one of four shipyards in Europe to hold the certificate.
DESAN Shipyard hosted students from the Occupational Health and Safety Program at Maltepe University Vocational School, along with instructors Mustafa Kösem and Deniz Çelikkantar. The visit included a presentation on shipbuilding, repair and maintenance, a video on yard operations and hazards, and a tour of the shipyard's Occupational Health and Safety Applied Training Center.
DESAN Shipyard said 4,400 people have received theoretical and practical training at its Applied OHS Training Hall since it opened in 2021. Fatih Çimen, the yard’s general audit and support units manager, said the recorded rate of unsafe behavior fell by 64% over the same period.
Desan Shipyard displayed four Fuel Ships under construction at EURONAVAL in Paris from October 18 to 21. Türkiye’s Ambassador to France, Ali Onaner, visited the company’s stand and was briefed on its new projects. The yard also presented the emergency response and diving training boats it delivered to the Turkish Naval Forces.
