Wooden & Steel Ship Repairs Ltd

Trading as Arctic Shipyard Ltd, the company runs two shipyard sites on both sides of the River Medina at Cowes, Isle of Wight, offering dry dock and slipway services together with traditional and steel ship repair. It took on the long-derelict Arctic Road dry dock (historically Marvins Yard, later Coles Yard) in September 2019 and rebuilt it, including fabricating new dock gates, and also rebuilt the small slipway at the Clarence Yard in East Cowes. The business states a policy of independence, keeping as much work as possible in house and investing in equipment such as a 50-tonne press brake, airless spray plant and a Priestman MC250 crawler crane.
