Royal Van Lent Shipyard is one of the historic Dutch yards behind Feadship, the alliance formed in 1949 to design, engineer and build full-custom superyachts. The website presents Feadship as a pure custom yacht builder working from four shipyards in the Netherlands, with design and naval architecture handled by De Voogt Naval Architects and Studio De Voogt. Alongside new build, the group offers refit, technical services, parts supply, crew training and a resale brokerage for pre-owned Feadships. Van Lent's own lineage traces back to boatbuilding in Lisse in 1849 and Jachtwerf De Kaag in 1917, receiving the Royal designation in 2001.

Royal Van Lent is one of the founding Dutch shipbuilding families within Feadship, the association established in 1949 by De Vries, Van Lent and four other Dutch yards, with naval architect Henri W. de Voogt joining shortly after. The Van Lent lineage began with boatbuilding in Lisse in 1849, a yard on Kaag Island from 1877 and Jachtwerf De Kaag in 1917; the Royal designation was granted in 2001. Today Feadship describes itself as a builder of pure custom superyachts, where every yacht is a one-off and a typical project takes three to four years from first sketch to delivery.
