Samsung Heavy Industries has won a contract to build two container ships for an African shipowner. The yard announced the order on 31 August 2026, saying the deal is worth approximately 444.5 billion KRW, or about $320 million.
The unit price is around $160 million per vessel. Delivery is scheduled for completion by December 2028.
The order takes Samsung Heavy Industries' commercial vessel orders for the year to 35 ships worth approximately 10.5 trillion KRW, according to the yard.
