MSC orders 20 LNG-dual-fuel boxships at two Chinese yards

Mediterranean Shipping Company has placed a fresh order for 20 LNG-dual-fuel ultra-large container vessels at two Chinese shipyards, Hengli Heavy Industries and Zhoushan Changhong International. The package is valued at approximately USD 4.4 billion.

Hengli Heavy Industries will build 10 additional 22,000 TEU dual-fuel containerships, taking its total order from MSC to 22 vessels. That total includes an earlier batch of 12 units, with deliveries scheduled for 2029.

Zhoushan Changhong International is also part of the deal, but the source text provided no further specification for its share of the order.
