CMB.TECH reported first-half 2026 earnings of $733 million and said a wave of tanker newbuild deliveries could reshape the market from 2027 onward.
Chief executive Alexander Saverys made the warning on the company’s latest earnings call. He said around 370 VLCCs and 250 Suezmaxes are currently on order, and that the combined orderbook now exceeds 30% of the existing fleet.
Saverys described the pace of deliveries expected in 2027–2028 as a factor that could change tanker supply dynamics. The company did not give further detail in the source text.
