Construction is underway at Baku Shipyard on the first of three 42-metre DP2 crew boats designed by Incat Crowther for an offshore energy services operator in Azerbaijan. The vessels are being built to serve pre-existing offshore energy infrastructure in the Caspian Sea.
Each vessel will feature a steel hull and superstructure and will be fitted with a 52-tonne hydraulic knuckle crane. The boats are also specified with a helideck, accommodation for 24 passengers and a crew of six, and a deadweight of about 75 tonnes.
Incat Crowther said the design was developed for offshore support duties in the region. The source did not name the owner.
